Submisson Guidelines

• Please submit your work via  Submittable
• Poetry: send up to 3 poems in one document of no more than 6 pages
• Flash: send up to 3 pieces of flash fiction of no more than 1000 words each
• Fiction: send a single story of up to 2500 words
• Creative Nonfiction: send a single piece of up to 2500 words
• We accept only Word documents (no pdfs please)
• Do not include any identifying information on your submission
• We do not accept previously published work
• We do not accept any work that is generated by or relies upon AI
• We read general submissions two times a year from January 1 – February 15, and May 1 – June 30, with a special reading period for Kimbilio Alumni and Fellows from September 1 – November 30
• Work received outside the reading periods will not be considered for publication
• Please submit only once per reading period
• We gladly accept simultaneous submissions, but If your piece is placed elsewhere (well done!), let us know as soon as possible
